Alani Nu Cherry Slush

Introduction

I snapped this can up so fast it's crazy. Alani Nu has never missed for me and I'm a sucker for cherry, so it seems like a match made in heaven.

Appearance

Love the can. Clean yet elegant and fairly "HD" compared to other designs.

Taste

I've had too many delicious black cherry flavored energy drinks recently and it's poisoned my brain. The first sip hit me and I had to readjust my expectations.

Ok, here we go. Like I said, don't expect a typical cherry flavor. That said, I think they succeeded with what they were going for. Cherry Slush tastes exactly like a cherry Icee. It has that overwhelming, syrupy sweetness that lingers in your mouth after you drink it.

Kick

200mg is perfect, man. Love that more drinks are going this route.

Conclusion

It's pretty freaking good. I just prefer a less sweet, black cherry taste to the uber sweet cherry slush. I think if you like cherry Icees (and who doesn't, really?) and prefer your energy drinks sweet, Alani Nu will be a home run.

Introduction

Alani Nu Cherry Slush is mildly disappointing for such a great brand. I absolutely love sweet beverages, but this is a bit too sweet even for me. It’s enjoyable, but the boldness of the cherry flavor is just a bit too much at times.

Upside

If you like incredibly bold cherry flavors, then this is your drink. 200mg of caffeine is also always a good amount for any energy drink. The Alani Nu energy blend and aftertaste are still present making this a good overall drink. It just falls short to most of their other flavors.

Downside

It’s just too sweet and a bit too artificial. I thought I’d like this more than I did, and gave it several tries before writing this. Cherry-flavored sodas are one thing, but this is on a whole other level of potency.

Upshot

Alani Nu Cherry Slush is a bold cherry energy drink that falls short of most other Alani Nu products. It is still very enjoyable, but nothing to write home about. I have yet to try a cherry drink this strong and can certainly see the appeal, but it just won’t be for everyone.
