Introduction

Another review request, keep ’em coming! I don’t have much experience with Raze, and all Cameron told me was that it tastes like a Mtn Dew Baja Blast so I don’t have much in the way of expectations. Let’s see how this goes.

Appearance

Can has a lot going on, and I’ll give it some points for standing out. I don’t like the green color at the top of the can though, which is definitely subjective.

Taste

So Cameron was right – it definitely tastes like a Mtn Dew Baja Blast. But I’d say the important distinction is that it also has a strong hint of lime, and subtle hint of salt that reminds me of a lime margarita. So combine those two and you get Raze Baja Lime.

I do like the flavor but it tastes a bit too close to a marg for me to love it. Hopefully you guys know what I’m saying when I say that tasting too much like an alcoholic beverage somewhat limits the upside.

Kick

300mg of caffeine and 0g of sugar with sucralose as the sweetener. Felt the kick immediately. Electrolytes explain the slightly salty flavor.

Conclusion

Raze Baja Lime is a good but not great drink. If it just tasted like a Baja Blast, or tasted more like C4’s Twisted Limeade, I’d love it, but the margarita flavor makes me cringe a bit every time I drink it. Your mileage may vary if you’re under 21 and/or don’t drink margaritas.

Introduction

Raze is an excellent brand with sweet and delicious flavors. While some are unique, Baja Lime is far from it. It genuinely tastes nearly identical to a Baja Blast, but with a better base flavor than Mtn Dew. The caffeine content and fact that it is not a Mtn Dew do raise the overall grade, but not to the point of being considered special or unique.

Upside

Baja Blast is extremely refreshing, and Baja Lime is even more so. The lime addition blends superbly with the standard Baja flavor. The kick is also excellent with 300mg of caffeine (18.75mg/floz) and no sugar. It really is refreshing, and a drink you could consume many times without it becoming cloy.

Downside

It is not original. Everyone knows the taste of Baja Blast, whether you like energy drinks or claim not to (but let’s be real, even people who say energy drinks are gross still love the taste when offered blindly). Raze does the flavor well, but it isn’t special like some of their other more unique flavors.

Upshot

If you enjoy Baja Blast, then you will absolutely love Baja Lime. It tastes similar, but dare I say it is slightly better with a significantly superior kick. I had to go 30 minutes out to find these at a vitamin shop, but if Baja is your thing, then it will be worth the trip (or Amazon order).

Appearance

The color scheme is bright and the pattern is visually stimulating. It looks great and all but appears eerily similar to Baja Blast. Hard to believe it’s a coincidence.

Taste

I’m sure I won’t be the only person to say this – it tastes like a knock off of Mtn Dew Baja Blast. It probably is. It cannot keep up with the energy drink version of Baja Blast, which is inferior to the original fountain drink. The hierarchy should be clear now. Although it doesn’t stack up to its similar drinks, it still clears a medium bar.

Kick

Raze Baja Lime has 300mg of caffeine, approximately equivalent to 3 cups of coffee.

Overall

Raze Baja Lime is a solid drink both in taste and appearance. I have my suspicions that Raze is going after MTN Dew Baja Blast, both in appearance and taste. Unfortunately, it falls short of all the Baja Blasts it so suspiciously resembles.
