Hunting for the best energy drink variety packs on Amazon started as a personal mission, but it’s something that needs to be shared with the masses.

Some of us energy drink connoisseurs (which you are by default, since you’re on this site) get tired of drinking 8 or 12 of the same can in a row, no matter how re-drinkable it is. OK, maybe Monster Zero Ultra is the exception.

I couldn’t settle on one definitive way to judge the “best” variety pack, so I split it into the categories that made the most sense to me: Best Value, Best Taste, Best Kick, and Best Variety.

Best Value: Rockstar Core 4-Flavor Variety Pack

Rockstar is a polarizing brand, especially after its recent rebrand and taste change. But there’s no denying this pack was a steal at $19.99 for 12, or $1.67 a can. It includes Original, Whipped Strawberry, Fruit Punch, and Lemonade.

Rockstar fans get a sampler of some of the brand’s best flavors, and anyone who hasn’t tried Rockstar gets a low-cost, high-reward introduction. Rockstar haters, skip ahead; I’m sure we’ve got something you’ll like.

Best Taste: Monster Ultra Sampler Pack (Sugar Free)

I couldn’t have drawn up this pack any better. Monster’s sugar-free Ultra line is a Caffeine Shark and fan favorite, and Monster has kept adding hits like Ultra Watermelon (included here) and Ultra Gold (not included).

Also not included is the cherry-flavored Ultra Black, which, in my opinion, you’re not missing. I do wish it had the new pineapple-flavored Ultra Gold, but you can pick that up separately as it rolls out to US stores.

With nine flavors, you won’t get bored, and I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Best Kick: C4 4-Flavor Variety Pack

C4 is a recent addition to my favorite brands, and nearly every one I’ve had is a certified banger (see my Twisted Limeade review). With two variety pack options at under $2 a can, you can’t go wrong.

Pack #1 has Peach Mango Nectar, Strawberry Watermelon Ice, Frozen Bombsicle, and Electric Sour. Pack #2 swaps Strawberry Watermelon Ice and Electric Sour for Orange Slice and Freedom Ice.

C4 is my Best Kick pick because its 200 mg of caffeine is a great medium-high level that, speaking from experience, always gets me jacked up.

Best Variety: CELSIUS Variety Pack

Last but not least, a verified Caffeine Shark favorite and one of the hottest brands in the game. I ordered this pack about a year ago, and it officially got me hooked on Celsius.

You get 12 flavors in a 12-pack (it was $23.99), including Sparkling Grape Rush, Sparkling Orange, Sparkling Cola, and Raspberry Acai Green Tea. Keep in mind Celsius mixes up its packs, so you might get two of one flavor and none of another.
