Update (Aug 21, 2021): The second Monster Reserve flavor is confirmed: Watermelon. White Pineapple’s label lists 29 g of sugar and several B vitamins at 240–490% of the daily value.

Update (2026): Both flavors launched, and Reserve later added Orange Dreamsicle.

On August 3, an image posted to the r/energydrinks subreddit set our group chat buzzing. Was it a photoshop? An upcoming drink? An old one that was discontinued?

The comments answered all three:

  • Not a photoshop
  • Yes, an upcoming drink (October!)
  • Not discontinued (yet)

Thanks to Reddit user u/timo808, we also know Monster Reserve White Pineapple is:

  • A new, full-sugar flavor
  • Coming in October 2021
  • Already being sampled by employees and other insiders

Some internet sleuthing also turned up Monster’s “M Reserve” trademark filing from May 2021, so “Reserve” looks like at least a working title.

I’ll speculate a bit and leave the rest to the smart people of the energy drink community. Monster already has Reign for the high-caffeine crowd and the Ultra line for the sugar-free, taste-driven crowd. What’s missing? I think Reserve is for people who wouldn’t give the OG Monster a second look: real sugar, fancy-sounding fruit flavors.

I hope Monster Reserve turns out like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, but in the back of my head I know it could end up like Steel Reserve. Fingers crossed.
