Intro
The very first thing I noticed when drinking this how it fizzles in your mouth. I could immediately tell that this bad boy was loaded with caffeine. With 300mg/can (18.75mg/floz), the sheer quantity of caffeine is clear from the moment it hits your tongue. This is not a drink to be had casually. This is a drink for when you want to start buzzing with energy.
Upside
I am going to go out on a limb and assume that most people reading this are avid caffeine fans such as myself. This to me puts Reign Inferno’s kick in the upside category. If you are falling asleep at night, this will easily keep you up for hours without a second thought. If you are already wide awake, well then you might just start dancing. Reign Inferno enhances mood, energy levels, and gives you a kick unlike anything below 300mg. The energy blend also focuses on Vitamin B’s and other additives besides sugar, so there is not much of a crash at all. The design is also pretty cool with an awesome logo and color scheme that I find fits very well. This particular can also has no sugar and only 10 Calories.
Downside
Reign Inferno Jalapeno Strawberry definitely separates itself from the other Reign Infernos. It has a far more bitter aftertaste even though the strawberry portion is sweet, giving it a very odd combination of flavors. The texture is hard to describe because it is so fizzy once it hits your tongue, it really cannot be described as smooth in the slightest. When focusing on any project and casually sipping a drink, you want the drink to compliment what you are doing and not distract you from the task at hand. Reign Inferno Jalapeno Strawberry always makes you aware of its presence as its strong flavor and kick demand respect on every sip. Although I enjoy the taste, it is a bit bitter for my liking for repeated use.
Upshot
Reign Inferno Jalapeno Strawberry is a drink that gives you an enormous kick, but will not help you focus. It can keep you awake and increase energy levels significantly, but its bold taste will distract you from anything else you are doing. I rated it a 7.5 out of 10 overall because although I enjoyed it very much and got the kick I needed, it is not something I would want to drink every day. I would say it is a great beverage when you want something new and unique to pick you up. If you are buying in mass quantity, I would look elsewhere.
